Fleet Cards Europe (FCE) is pleased to announce the publication of its new factsheet “The fleet card industry: Key facts, business model and contribution to Europe’s road transportation transition”.

This publication presents an overview of the independent fleet card sector, outlining its core features and its growing role in enabling more efficient, digital and sustainable road transport across Europe.

The factsheet underlines the scale and strategic relevance of the fleet cards ecosystem in 2024:

• €39,1 billion in total transaction value processed across fleet card-enabled services,
• 1,4 billion transactions managed across fuel, EV charging, tolling, parking and mobility services,
• 14,1 million active devices in use, including fleet cards, onboard units and telematics solutions.

It also highlights the strong adoption of fleet card services by fleet operators, while shedding light on the industry’s business model, its role in supporting the energy transition, and its impact on digitalisation and competitiveness. Together, these elements provide a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the evolving fleet card sector.

The key figures are based on aggregated and anonymised data collected from FCE members between September and December 2025.
